The Widow Support Network (WSN), was founded by photographer Rob Holt,
who became a widower himself in 1996. WSN is a 501.3(c) humanitarian non-profit organization
providing income assistance, care giving, social services and emotional support and for
widows. We are committed in meeting the needs of young and senior widows by providing financial
counseling, home maintenance and direct giving. We respect, care for and inspire our widows
by empowering their choice by offering expanded lifestyle options
We not only need funds to be effective. We also need you. Think about how what you do and
how you can benefit a widow in need. Can you cook, cut (garden), paint, or lift (move). Can
you care? We need caretakers for various shifts for our older widows in special situations.
Many widows need grief and financial counselors who can help make the transition smoother.
They need someone to listen….to be there. Unfortunately, many older widows find themselves
alone…especially the older ones whose adult children live out of state…or are simply too busy
to see the need that is right in front of them.
We are standing to bridge that gap. Won’t you consider standing with us? Won’t you volunteer
and offer whatever it is you do, for a widow to whom it would mean more then you can ever know
(yet). We have a network and all you need to do is add your abilities and contact info to our
volunteer matrix. When a need arises, we make a call to our network and those who respond get
assigned to that widow. To join the network or find out how you can donate funds to our efforts
please contact Rob Holt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
